Subject: Dating by Nick Carter, 29.

"I've been going on dates for over 15 years but I still find them terrifying. It's scarier than singing live to thousands of fans; with a performance you can rehearse, but a date is a different equation. You can't prepare because you don't know what to expect. But that's what makes it exciting. I've always got nervous on a first date, but I think that's a good sign. It means you like the other person. I'd usually suggest a movie - a comedy. It breaks the ice and takes the focus off each other. It gives you common ground to work from. My first ever date was roller skating - doing something energetic burns off the nerves too. A guy's instinct is often to sleep with a woman on the first date. But I think you should resist for as long as possible. Not only because it makes it special, but to protect yourself from getting hurt. Although, at the other end of the spectrum, I've found that having your heart broken helps you. When it heals, you'll be wiser and more understanding. If a guy doesn't call or text you back for days on end, it could be because he's playing a game. When men don't know how to react to their feelings, that's what we do. I admit I've done it in the past, but not any more. You need to be open with one other. The biggest lesson I've learnt is that you should never judge a book by its cover. Unfortunately, I have in the past. Some of the hottest people in the world aren't as nice as you'd expect. Even the sexiest girls have problems and insecurities. I want someone real. In the past, I've dated celebs, British girls...even a fan. As long as she has a genuine heart and is a good person, that's all that matters." Nick is currently dating photographer Lauren Kitt. Backstreet Boys' new album This Is Us is out now.

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter said he finds going on dates "terrifying" and that they are "scarier" than singing live. Carter, 29, has previously dated women such as Ashlee Simpson and Paris Hilton, and he admitted he has always found dating a daunting experience. He said to British magazine Cosmopolitan: "I've been going on dates for over 15 years but I still find them terrifying. It's scarier than singing live to thousands of fans; with a performance you can rehearse, but a date is a different equation. You can't prepare because you don't know what to expect. Some of you may remember Jennifer's hit from 1998, Crush. The singer has released a few albums over the years and she's doing well overseas. According to Jennifer's facebook, she and Nick wrote a song together in August called Beautiful Lie: "Surprise! We've just added a sneak peak of the new single, "Beautiful Lie", to the Music Player (on left). You might quickly recognize another familiar voice in there...that of, yes, it's Nick Carter. :) We wrote it a couple o...f months ago in LA, and it went to radio in Germany, Austria & Switzerland only yesterday. I wanna see this make it all around the world & back!" Click here to listen to the song clip.

Subject: Aaron Carter Won't Get Brother Nick's Vote On 'Dancing With The Stars'
Source: mtv.com

'My brother's like, 'I love Michael [Irving]. I'm gonna vote for him,' ' the younger Carter says. Aaron Carter is ready for the latest season of "Dancing With the Stars," premiering Monday (September 21) on ABC. He will be competing against the likes of Macy Gray, Kelly Osbourne, Tom Delay and Mya, but thinks that his toughest competition will be the guy in the mirror. "Honestly, the biggest competition I feel is myself. The reason why I feel like my biggest competition is probably me," he told MTV News while rehearsing with partner Karina Smirnoff. "It's all about how much we rehearse and how much we take advantage of [those rehearsals]. I'm all about how much I push myself." But his brother, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, pegged someone else as his younger sibling's biggest competition: football star Michael Irving. "I told my brother about [Michael Irving] and my brother's like, 'I love Michael. I'm gonna vote for him.' " Carter isn't too worried though, given his job has required him to dance before. "I think as a dancer I have a little bit of a competitive edge over some people, absolutely. But who knows? We're all coming into this with not knowing what we're doing, so I think it's pretty equal 'cause it's not like this is what I do professionally." He's finding the ballroom dancing in particular a bit challenging. "I always try to give you a little bit more. It's completely out of whack, if that makes any sense," he said. "Like it just doesn't click — it doesn't make any sense to me yet." Carter also revealed that he had been asked to appear on the show before, but didn't accept until the time was right. "There was a couple of other times they approached me about it ... it just wasn't the right time and I had to go ahead and get my mind right and my body right and come into it with a clear conscience," he explained. "This time was time just 'cause the third time's a charm. It was a great opportunity that I just couldn't turn down anymore. I love competition."

Subject: Backstreet Boys: 'RedOne is a big fan'
Source: digitalspy.com

Nick Carter has claimed that producer RedOne was a big fan of the Backstreet Boys when he was growing up. The singer revealed that RedOne is influenced by the 'Straight Through My Heart' boyband and jumped at the opportunity to produce songs for their new album This Is Us. "RedOne was actually kind of like a big fan of us at the beginning, and always wanted to be on our album," he told Popjustice. "It was really cool, it was just funny how time goes by when certain people rise to the occasion, and it's their time to shine. It's just funny how life works. "He wrote three songs for us. He just delivered amazing songs that we thought were great and current and fresh. You know what's funny though? Even though he's worked with GaGa and all these big artists, he was such a big fan of the Backstreet Boys." Carter added: "He really tried in the very beginning, when he started to write songs that could go on our album. He studied us, and tried to write songs for us." RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, has also produced records for acts including New Kids on the Block, Akon, Sugababes, Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Richie and Robyn.

PopEater recently visited the Backstreet Boys at a Hollywood studio where they were rehearsing for their upcoming tour. While there, we spoke with Nick Carter about the group's new album, 'This Is Us,' and his younger brother, Aaron, who will be a contestant on this season of 'Dancing With the Stars.' "I'm excited for him," Nick said. "I think he's going to really do well cause my brother's doing his thing and he's in a great place." Ever the helpful sibling, Nick plans on lending Aaron as much brotherly love as he can. "If my brother wants me there then I'll be there," he says. "At least I'll be in the audience supporting him." Carter also said that if they were asked, the Backstreet Boys -- who worked with the likes of T-Pain and Ne-Yo on their album -- would certainly be willing to appear on the show. "If that's what they were up for, of course," he said. "Absolutely." For Nick though, this is more about the Carter brothers getting a chance to clear up some long-standing negative perceptions. "With 'House of Carters,' the world saw the biggest lows in my family ever. It's unfortunate but that's just how it was. That's where we were in our lives," he said. "But now this gives a whole different look into who we are as people and artists, good people, not just the bad side of things. That's what's great about [Aaron] being able to be on this show and me being able to do what I'm doing at the same time. He's even said the same thing; we both want to mend what has been torn apart."

Subject: Backstreet Boy celebrates birthday in GTA
Source: ctv.ca

Of all the places for an international celebrity to hold a birthday bash, the Greater Toronto Area is not always the first choice. But Nick Carter, member of the hugely popular music group the Backstreet Boys, chose to celebrate his birthday Thursday night in Richmond Hill. Hundreds of fans turned out on a bitterly cold night to celebrate Carter's 29th birthday at Nava Restaurant and Bar. The venue provided an intimate setting, giving fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the star. Carter has taken a liking to the club. This was not the first time he has been to Nava. This past summer, Carter and fellow band member Howie Dorough held an after-party at Nava after playing a sold-out concert in Toronto that night. This time there was no concert. The singer just flew in Thursday morning to celebrate his birthday the Canadian way. "I enjoy it here. There are so many great friends and fans. This is a great spot to be at. I love Nava. The last time we came here we had a great time. I love the owners here and I enjoy the music," Carter told CTV Toronto. Michael Wilson, Nava's owner, was pleased to host Carter. "Nick Carter just had such a good time. He loves Canada. He loves the people here and he also loves Nava. He actually asked to come back and have his birthday party here, so that was pretty cool," Wilson said. Hundreds of blinding camera flashes and the deafening screams of fans greeted Carter. They later serenaded him with Happy Birthday. Carter partied in the central VIP section of the venue, giving everyone a good view to snap photos and even get the chance to meet the heartthrob. Midway through the night, Carter proved he could do more than just sing. He showed off his DJ skills, taking over the turntables for a complete set. He later got on the microphone to thank his Toronto fans for celebrating his birthday with him. During the night he answered questions about the Backstreet Boys and what fans could expect. Carter says the group is currently in the process of recording their seventh album and working on new collaborations. "We're redoing everything with the sound. We're going back to what we do best when it comes to pop, R&B and dance. This time we're linking up with new producers. We're collaborating with people like NeYo, Chris Brown and Akon," he said. Carter started his career with the Backstreet Boys when he was just 12. Sixteen years later, fans still cannot get enough. "We feel like we've still got a lot left in us as a group. It's exciting to be around for so many years." The band has been on an eight-month world tour titled Unbreakable, promoting their sixth album of the same name. "We went to Japan, China and Europe. We toured Canada and America. Now we're going to South America -- so I guess that means we've still got it," Carter said. The Backstreet Boys hit international success in 1997 and has since then sold over 100 million albums world wide, making them one of the best-selling music groups of all time. Carter loves his Canadian fans. Based on the reception he received Thursday night, the singer says he will definitely be back.
