Kevin @ the Rainforest Cafe

The first time I saw Kevin at White Star in September PALES in comparison to what happened today, and I have TOTALLY forgiven him for ignoring me that time!) Anyway making a long story short, once we were inside the RFC, we were all invited to get into a line that led to a little area where said green eyed stud was standing! He was laughing and talking with each person who came up and as we watched, we noticed that the first thing he did was NOT to shake hands, but....TO HUG the person who stood waiting to meet him!!

Anyway, it took Angie, Courtney and I about 15 minutes to get to the front of the line and it was well worth the wait. Angie made me go first! I purposely wore the shirt I had made with mine and Howie's picture on it so he'd notice me! (He did! Commented on it too!) When it was...ahhh, my turn, I put my purse down on the table beside where Kevin was standing. He smiled at me, I at him! I put up my hands and said, "Oh boy, do I have some messages to give you!" He gave me a look of mock surprise, opening that mouth of his!!! Then he said, "Really?" and laughed! I said, "Oh yeah!" It was like we were old friends getting ready to catch up on things!! Then I walked into those not so boney any more arms of his, and got one of the tightest hugs I've ever gotten in my life!! I whispered in his ear that my name was Susie! He said, "Hi Susie! Thank you for coming!" And then we began to speak. I told him that I just had to relay a message from a special friend of mine who simply adores him! I told him that several of my friends are big fans and I mentioned their names..but I told him seperately that, "I have a friend named Michelle who just adores you and she wanted me to say hello and give you a big hug!" Welllllll, he said, "Aww well tell her that I love her too and thank her!" I said, "She's gonna kill me coz she is just dieing to meet you, so I have to give you a big hug from her!" He said okay and after Angie and Courtney got their turns to hug him, he gathered us close to him, put his arm around ME and Courtney as Angie got on my other side! He squeezed us all together and we couldn't help but smile!! I think the photog took two or three pics before Kevin let us go! After that, I turned to him again and thanked him and said, "This hugs from Michelle!" He said, "Well you tell her I said hi!!" So.....KEVIN SAYS TO SAY, "HI MICHELLE!"

Anyway, he was so incredibly sweet to everyone! And.....Kristin was there! (NOT pregnant by the way!) Sweet as pie that girl! She was hugging all the fans that could get near her...and Anne Richardson was there! I've never seen her before! She is a lovely woman! I didn't meet her or Kris but when one of Kevin's cookbooks (yes his own personal cookbook, not a JWR one) was auctioned off, I asked him if his omlette recipes were in the book! Kris looked over and laughed and she smiled at me. Kevin gave me a silly look and said, "Ahh, those are boring!! From back in the day! I have stuff like southern fried chicken recipes in there!!" What a nut! Someone else won the cookbook but Angie took part in the auction for an autographed calendar and she got it for $350!! Problem was, it was suppose to be autographed by Nick but it was Kevin! Someone had stolen the Nick one off the table! Sooo, when Nick gets back home from England, Angie is going to get another calendar with Nick's autograph on it, and she was able to keep the one with Kevin's on it!!! She is just not fit to live with now! Can't blame her!

Anyway, poor Kevin didn't get to eat till almost everyone else had finished but he spent time with every single person who came to the function! Just like Howie, he is so sweet and attentive to his fans! I was more excited when I met Howie, but meeting Kevin was awesome! He's so real! And he does look as good as his pictures! But that hair...that mohawk! Eeek! Well, I kept my opinions to myself! Ha ha! It's starting to grow out a bit and it actually looks pretty good! Kris even mussed it up a bit (so it wasn't so much of a mohawk as "just got @#%$" hair) while he was reading off the raffle numbers! All in all, the day went beautifully. Security was there but very cool and everyone behaved! And oh my, Kevin was just the nicest guy! I really hope he comes back next year and does this again! I'd love for it to be an annual thing. Now he said that this is probably gonna be happening in other areas since it's just getting started so watch for it in your area! You'll have a ball, I guarantee it!
