Janelle's BSB Encounter
On July 7, 2001, me and my friends went to see the free concert being put on by Kiss 108 featuring Joey Macintyre and LFO in Boston. We got there early so we could get a good spot. It was around noon time and the artists were having doing their vocal checks. Erica and Anthony got hungry and went to go find a Starbucks. They came back and said that BSB was staying at the Ritz. Me and Erica went down to the Ritz to see if we could meet them. We snuck inside and pretended like we were staying there and if we got caught we would use the excuse that my mom is staying here and we are trying to find the room or something like that. We went up in the elevator with this family and their 20 yr old son. We went up a few floors and the elevator stopped. There is this guy standing there and says to someone that it was ok to go in there. And in walks Kevin!!! He came in and stood right in front of me right near the buttons. Me and Erica were like OMG! but we held it all inside. We kept looking at each other with a shocked look. He must have noticed us in the reflection in the elevator and he smiled and mouthed hi to us. We ended up asking for his autograph and he made sure he signed one for both of us before he got off on his floor. When he left he shook both of our hands and said "Have a nice day girls"! He is the sweetest guy!!
The next day me, Anthony and Erica went back into Boston to the Ritz. We heard that they were at the Red Sox game so we walked around Newbury St for a while. We went back to the hotel a few hours later and found out that they all had left again. There was this nice bellboy there and he told us that 2 of the boys were not tooo far from here. After a little while of convincing
him and saying how much we wanted to meet them, he told us they were in the Commons playing softball. We got there and there was Brian and Kev and their tour crew. Brian had on a Red Sox jersey and Kev a Yankees. Brian was awesome! He got some good hits and made some awesome plays from Shortstop. Kev was also good. He got some good hits too. He played second base. One time he almost took some fans' heads off when he overthrew the ball to first lol. There were not a lot of fans there cause no one knew about it. I was glad cause sometimes fans go a little crazy and don't let them have their fun. The fans there respected them and let them have their space. We were cheering them on. Brian was goofing off for us. At the end of the game, Brian and his bodyguard came by and he was waving to everyone. It seemed like he wanted to take pics and sign but his bodyguard kept pushing him away. But Kev was nice and so was his bodyguard. He had to go to but he took group pics with us. Erica jumped right beside him and he put his arm around
her. I was next to her. Anthony took the picture for us.
Well that is my story of meeting them! I hope to meet the rest of them soon. Here is some advice when you meet them. Retain your composure and remember they are normal people! You will get more out of your encounter, I guarantee you that!
