My friend Emma and I had planned a vacation to Cape Cod back in April. Imagine our surprise when two weeks before our trip, our friend Lisa told us that Kevin & AJ would be there for a golf tournament during our stay. Emma, who's a big Kev fan, asked me if I liked Golf. Hell no! lol... But for a chance to see Kevin and AJ (and heck the tix were only $10.0 each), I can put up with the most boring sport in the world.

Six am came too quickly on Monday. We had to leave the hotel by 7:30 to be there for the intros which were at 8:30. Only golfers would hold something that early. It was hotter than a devil in hell, too! By the time we parked and walked back a mile from the peon parking lot, the intros were almost over, but we did get there just in time to hear Kev and AJ being introduced. I had a hard time seeing them because of the tall crowd, but eventually I got a peek at them during the golf clinic. Kevin was very attentive. AJ looked fidgety. At one point, Chuck needed someone to help him out and all the kids in the crowd were yelling out AJ's name so he got AJ to help him out. AJ wasn't very helpful. LOL. He just stood there and didn't seem to want to be there. I think he was having a bad day.

After an hour, the celebrities started leaving for their starting holes. We waited for Kevin and he stopped and signed autographs and took a pic with a fan. He was very sweet even though he was being rushed. Emma had bought him a good luck charm that had a golf joke on it and she managed to give it to him and wish him good luck. I took some pictures. They came out good.

Emma went down to the 1st hole to watch Kevin tee off while I sat down on some steps and waited for them. When she came back, we decided we weren't going to follow Kevin from one hole to the next because there was way too much walking involved so we went to the 9th hole and waited for them there. We found a good spot to stand, right by where the golf carts would pull up. Some golf fan started talking to us. We dubbed him Mr. Mouth cause he wouldn't shut up. Come to find out he went to school with Johnny Wright. We got Johnny's life story. How exciting. *snort*

         

I'd say we waited a good hour before AJ showed up. He had his throng of loyal followers that were going from hole to hole with him. He wasn't going to sign autographs, but someone nudged him in our direction. Like I mentioned before, he wasn't in a good mood. He seemed sad and/or depressed. He wouldn't smile. He signed a few autographs and I waited until he was done before planting myself in front of him. I asked him for a picture and he said, "Sure," or something like that then put his arm around me and pulled me close and squeezed me a couple of times. It's then that I realized how short he is! I'm 5'2 and I reached the middle of his ear. Someone shouted at him to smile while we were taking the pic and Emma said he did a half-grin, but on the picture he looks sad. And I have a huge smile on my face. lol! I didn't get many good AJ pix. He kept his back to us. I got like 2 booty shots. As he was standing there I said, "I can only get a pic of his ass." Emma said something like, "Take one," and I said, "I'm not gonna take a pic of his ass. He doesn't have one!" I realized I said it loud enough for AJ to hear. He was only standing a few feet away. I made some people laugh though and I don't think he heard. He knows he ain't got no ass!

Kevin was next. Now he is a veritable sweetheart! He didn't play his turn (or whatever you call it, I don't know any golf terms). Instead he stayed with the fans and signed for everyone who asked. He went up and down the line twice. I thought that was so sweet! Again, I waited until he was done before approaching him. I asked him for a picture, he said, "Of course!" and he put his arm on my back and started rubbing my back. *thud* Major Kevy moment people! If Nick ever does that, I'll evaporate on the spot! That picture came out nice. I look like a midget next to him! LMAO! I got some really good shots of him. He was talking to his cart partner (don't ask me who it was) for a while. Probaby some deep and philisophical conversation about Golf. Kevin was explaining something to him, talking with his hands. He looked cute in his blue KY cap, white PROAM tee and tan capris/long shorts. AJ was in a cap also, and baggy, too long for him tan pants. Mr. Mouth made a comment about how Kevin's pants are too short and AJ's are too long. Maybe they should switch. Ok so he was funny once.

After left we went to get something to eat and ruminated about the guys. It was a nice day and the tournament raised a lot of money for the kids. Emma was happy that she got a chance to observe Kevin and AJ upclose. I was happy that I finally have pictures with two of the BSBs! After many years of trying to actually meet them (other than my brief hellos from the 2000) it finally happened and I was ecstatic! Now if only I could have that same luck with Mr. Carter. One day...
