On February 14, 2000 (Valentine's Day) I went to the Backstreet Boys concert in Albany NY. My sister and I drove from CT. Originally, we had 3rd row seats on the side, but sold those and bought 6th row floor. What a good idea that would end up being! We got to our seats, and started talking to these girls behind us. They bust out these pictures with them and the boys! My sister and I start freaking out, of course. We finally get them to tell us what hotel they're at. So after the show, we head over to the hotel. Sure enough, there's 2 buses out front and a crowd of girls inside. My sister and I just walk into the hotel lobby. All the girls are roped off in a corner, so we just walk right to the elevator. We press the button, and proceed to wait forever for the elevator. We're kind of impatient for the elevator to come because, we didn't have a room at the hotel, and didn't want to get in trouble. Seconds later, Tommy, Mindi, and 2 other members of the band come over and get in the elevator with us. My sister and I are trying to act all calm, like this is no big deal, lol. So they all get off on their floors, and my sister and I pick a random floor.

So now we're upstairs and immediately call the hotel to see if they have any rooms. Of course, they don't. So we figure we'll just walk around and maybe we'll see someone. So we go down to the 5th floor, and end up seeing a lady and her 2 daughters. We know them from home, and they tell us that Nick is on this floor and show us his room. We could hear someone in there, they were very loud. So we decide to go check out other floors. We eventually end up on the 8th floor, and as we walk down the hall, a door flies open. One of the members of the band is standing there (I forget his name), and he says "Who are you looking for girls??" He laughs and walks off. My sister's like "What do you know?" and he said "Nothing, I' with N Sync" LOL. So we start down the hall again, and another door opens scaring us to death again. And who comes flying out of the room? AJ. He kinda jumps and says "Whoa, sorry guys, you scared me." We're both like that's ok, and my sister keeps walking and AJ starts down the hall. I keep thinking, there's no way I'm leaving without a picture. So I turn around and say "Hey AJ, do you think you could do me a favor?" He says "Sure, what?" So I ask him to take a picture with me, and he says "Sure no problem." So I'm looking through my bag for the camera, and we chat a bit. Then his phone rings in his room. He excuses himself and says he'll be right back. And I must say his room was the messiest thing I ever saw! Marcus comes down the hall and asks us what we're doing. And I say "Oh, we're waiting for AJ." AJ comes back out (he's smoking by the way), and he says hey to Marcus. They talk for about 5 minutes about some white stuff on the ground. AJ asked what the hell it was, he thought it was eggshells, lol. They're weird. So we talk for about 5 minutes about ice skating, because I skate, and then we take the picture. He is very short, I'm 5'5", and he was about an inch or so taller than me (you can see in the picture). I said thanks, and he told us to "Have a nice night ladies." We casually walk back down the hall, then freak out in the elevator.
