America's top boyband the Backstreet Boys may have been away for five years, but they still know how to please the fans.

With all the talk of the Take That Reunion tour and the rumoured come back of Boyzone, the fact that the Backstreet Boys have returned and stormed the world yet again seems to have gone unnoticed in Britain.

Brian, Kevin, AJ, Nick and Howie made up one of the biggest acts of the 1990's and toured non-stop for seven years, but with today's tastes directed more towards hip hop, they have proved there will always be a market for all those quality pop lovers.

Twenty-six-year-old Nick Carter, who joined the group at just 12-years-old, said there was no point changing their music to fit in with today's style: "I believe music comes in a cycle. I don't believe that we are going to change to fit any other type of music.

"We don't really care what kind of music hits out there. Actually we kind of wade against the tide."

The Backstreet Boys have sold over 75 million records worldwide since 1995 including the smash hits Everybody (Backstreet's Back) and I Want It That Way.

Their single All I Have To Give gained the No.1 spot in 18 nations.

During their five-year break Brian became the first Backstreet Father, Kevin took on Broadway and London's West End with a starring role in "Chicago," and Nick put out a solo project.

At the same time rebel BSB member AJ McLean was battling with personal demons against a well-publicised stint in rehab.

The lads certainly are busy now they're back, they are currently on a world-tour and performed in the UK last October with sell-out dates all over the country including two huge concerts at Wembley Pavilion.

The Backstreet Boys have already outlived the usual shelf-life of most other boybands and they certainly don't look as though they are going to pack it in any time soon.
