To be an adult fan of BSB is AWESOME. To go see them when they are in concert is like being 14 again. Every time I see them in concert it's like seeing them for the first time. They make my life bearable. Without them this world would be a worse place. They are the people that make this world go around. At least for me any ways.

What it means to me being an Adult BSB Fan... To me being a Mature BSB Fan is great. I mean remembering how you were when you first became their fan, people label you a "teeny bopper" and all those other names that came along. But now you have grown up and you have evolved with the boys. You can look at all the things you bought about them when you were young and see how much different you are. Remember when you went to your 1st BSB concert and remember how you acted, you can also tell your children (if you have any now) all the stories of how mommy use to act when she was young. Just think about it, you are no longer that teeny bopper you are now a Mature BSB Fan and Proud of it!

Music isn't defined by age. It is defined by the sound and the words that come altogether which soothes the soul. As a fan of the Backstreet Boys for ten years (since 1996 I was eighteen that time) I saw their music not only as a source of enjoyment but as a continuous testament of the changes every person is going through. As teenagers they talk of broken hearts, falling in love, getting back the one you love; as men they talk about coping with the lost of loved ones, picking up from where you fall and describing the things that are happening (as they narrated the events of 911 in Weird World) and this is proof that they continue to keep touch with the changes within themselves, with their fans and with the world around. The word boy band is just an invented term- a word, something that the media has spawned for their own pleasure and for their business in order to thrive and mold the thinking of the audience but in the long run it's the fans who take control. The harshest criticisms, the endless taunts done by the media is to remove the Backstreet Boys from where they stand, to push further their opinion that they are not legitimate artists and their music is no longer appealing but judging the Boys' history from the awards they received (including nominations that came even from the most cut throat award giving groups), it meant that they are worth of those honors most of all they kept a lasting relationship with their fans that despite being celebrities they know how to make ordinary people feel at ease. The genre of music today maybe different just as many names showed signs of promise even during the years when the Backstreet Boys are making one hit after another, they've been pitched in against others but then again one big name doesn't always promise a lifetime of presence. In the case of the Boys from Orlando, they proved that they can break into the waves no matter what. Sure there are many big names who shine and music that is being "invented" but that doesn't always promise positive messages and influences if not give the listener the guarantee of having that good feeling after you listen to it. In my experience the music of the Backstreet Boys has all the pleasantries as well as reflections of realities that anyone can relate to which is the one thing they have truly achieved. So this is my message to the Boys: Dear AJ, Kevin, Nick, Brian and Howie, I’m not a person who writes always but then my habit must have changed since I got hooked with your music back in ’96. I love your music not only because I’ve been your fan for years but each time you bring something new I have nothing but respect for you not only as artists but as people. Truth is there were many others when you guys came along pop groups who appeared to be promising but none of them lasted in the same way youdid and I think what you guys have is beyond all the accolades you received and will be receiving if I’m going to put it in words it’s your sheer will to put up with everything you got not only for yourselves but for your fans I don’t think you’ve been overshadowed like many had said you guys just knew when to stop and think and go back to where you rested for a moment. Indeed you’ve become bolder if not better. Despite all the distractions you keep yourselves planted on the ground and held to each other and to your fans, friends and most of all to your families. Few artists like you were overly zealous not because you wanted fame and fortune but it’s what you loved to do and loving what you do at all times makes you more special to the people who share those dreams of yours (but those dreams have already been fulfilled and will still be). There are many people out there who wait for you and listen to you even from some places you haven’t been to places that can’t yet be reached due to some difficult situations and other constraints but that has been understandable because even though you’re not there your music can transcend borders and spread those positive messages. I wish to tell you guys that when I started my journey toward BSB fandom your music was the one that won the approval of my parents. Of all the music that got to the ears of the older people at home, yours was considered the best to listen to and something that the young and old can agree to. I have nothing but praise and respect for you not only that you accomplished one of the most incredible feats in the world you were all honest in admitting your own ups and downs, which takes a lot of courage and strength and as you continue the more you let us know that we can relate ourselves with you and share what ever endeavors and transitions you will do. To this day I’m keeping the Backstreet Pride alive and I owe a lot of my personal happiness to you. Your performance last January 20 was great!

Hello y'all adult fans. I was a teenager when I heard of the Backstreet Boys for very first time. Believe me, I never thought I could come so far and I'm glad I did. We did cuz the Backstreet family is so big. I became an adult while the boys were on hiatus and I'm happy they're back!! I know some choose different paths and I don't blame them, we know it's hard some times like Stacy stated but we have to be strong. We're strong women!! Girls, never give up and from time to time play again your first BSB song (for me 'Quit playin' games' and still my fave from all-times) to keep fresh in your mind what we are and why it's so good and feels so good to be a proud BSB fan!!

I am a huge BSB fan. Granted it dissipated slightly in high school since I "wanted to be cool - I'm sorry boys" but since I saw them for the third time back in September 2005, it's come back full force. They have to be some of the most talented men that I've ever laid my eyes (and ears) on and I would love to meet them one day. I sing, too, and I think advice from them would be incredible. This site is really cool. Keep up the good work!

Hi, my name is Allison and I am 21 and have been a BSB fan since I was 12. I actually met a girl at work who referred me to this site. I am from Winnipeg Manitoba and am so excited that BSB is coming to winnipeg for the first time since 98. I am also disappointed that I can't afford to go to the councert but I will be there at like 8 in the morning if it even means I could get a glimpse of them or meet them. Anyways I am so glad I found this site. I keep everything that I have on BSB and any new stuff that comes around.

I have been a fan since I was about 17 or 18! I fell in love with the music. I love they way they make there voices blend. I am partial to Nick for many reasons. Mostly because he sings with so much emotion and he seems to wear his heart on his sleeve!!! I have been to Jamestown, NY because it is really close to me. I just like to go because he used to live there! The music has been my escape. I wouldn't know what to do without it!

I've been a BSB fan sice I was 17. I admire them for living the lives they live and still coming across like gentlemen. Their music has helped me through alot of stuff. Nearly dying a few times, the loss of not one but three grandparents. The loss of not one but three cats to various reasons. They also kept me from ending my life one really rough week of senior high school. They have quickly become like brothers to me. They and their music also help me through the mental issues attached to current events.

I'm 26 years old and damn proud to be a BSB fan!! I'm partial to Nick....ok ok....he's one fine piece of work!! My friends just don't understand why I talk about him so much. In fact there's only one person who does and that's my friend Chellie. Most Nick fans get all excited when I tell them I live about half an hour away from where he grew up. I know exactly where the famed "Yankee Rebel" is and everything. Actually, I can take this one step further by admitting that I'm a 26 year old Aaron Carter fan as well!! He's looking more and more like his big brother everyday, and that voice of his shows that Carter talent through and through!! I'm patiently waiting for the day that I meet Nick....until then, I say this to everyone else (to quote "Help Me") I love him for who he is, no angel, just an ordinary man.

I am proud to be a older fan of the Backstreet Boys. I have liked their music since 1999. The very first song and my favorite song that I have heard from them was All I Have To Give. I got hooked. I started to buy all the magazines, posters, merchdise, and cds. I saw them three times last year during the Black & Blue tour. The best exprenince that I had is when AJ celebrated his 100 day of being sober. I was at that concert and he metion my home city Tucson, Arizona. I was so happy to be there. KTBSPA!!!!If you are older fan so what you are still a kid at heart. I will always love the guys in my only special way.

I am one of the biggest BSB fans around and I dont care how old I am. I love them all, but Howie is my favorite and yes I am very jealous of Lee but I guess as long as shes happy. I may be 21 but you know what? My room is covered with them and Howie is over my bed. I have over 40 cds of them cause I buy the imports. My writing on my computer is purple, my desktop is Howie, I have a purple bowling ball....I've seen them 3 times in concert and I write fan fiction and visuals. So guess what....for all you people out there that think you're too old to be a BSB fan, you are never too old. They always make me feel better when I need cheering up and they always bring a smile to my face. KTBSPA!

Hi! I just had my one year anniversary. Yes, I remember to the day when the boys came into my life. My story is not a happy one so I won't depress yall with the details but I will say that I gained a real angel and 5 figurative ones all in the same night. :-) I've made so many friends in the past year and most of them I know I'll have forever. My two best friends are both Backstreet Fans and I am so lucky to have them both. This site was a shocker to me not because of the fact that their are older fans but because it's just an awesome site. Yet another place where I feel I belong, and won't be judged by my age or ability to recognize that the boys are human and are going to do stupid stuff from time to time. My family thinks I've brainwashed my daughter, Devyn (5), but how could she not be a fan she was born on Howie's birthday? I don't see it as brainwashing as much as selective enlightenment. I've never seen the boys live but my friends and I are already making plans to remedy that ASAP. So that's my little intro... take from it what you will. Love hugs, and Backstreet kisses!

I have been a BSB fan since 1995! It's really nice to know that there are quite a number of adult BSB fan out there. It all began when i was 15. I saw the video "We've got it goin' on" from their first european/asian album "Backstreet Boys". They truly have something goin' on not just looks but genuine talent and since then I've been hooked. Everyone was telling that they were just bunch of "good looiking one hit wonders" -- and now they ate everything they said! HOOORAY for the BSB!!! I have always been a BSB fan and I always will be. Thanx for putting up sites like this!

When I got interested in BSB last year, I thought I was the oldest fan alive. Then I was on some site and found the link to this wonderful site. Made me feel young when I saw that there are BSB fans out there in their 40s and 50s, perhaps even 60s. That is so cool! I've been married for five years and have a beautiful three year old son named Jonah that I play BSB music to. He loves listening to Everybody and Larger than Life. When I told my hubby about this site, he didn't believe that there were older fans. I loved saying I told you so! Hee! I'm proud to be an older fan. I've never seen the guys in concert, but I'm hoping to one day. I imagine it's the experience of a lifetime. Maybe one day they'll come to Maine. Hee! Thanks for a great site!

The first time I saw BSB on TV September 1997 when I first QPGWMH. I was the guys are cute. Then a few weeks later, I was in Poland and I saw BSB stuff everywhere and the Backstreets Back video. I came home and I was hooked on Backstreets Back. A couple of months rolled by and I started to like their music but I did not know who they were. Then in the Summer of 1998, my cousin took me to a BSB concert in Wisconsin and thats where I got really hooked. I do remember I took a rest after one of the songs and when the next song came on I jumped from my seat and almost fell. 1998 was my favorite year because I saw them 3 times!! People think I am nuts cause I have their poster on my walls and plus now I have the calendar hanging on my desk at work. Brian is my favorite!! I think his brother Harold is a hottie!! I am hooked on the Littrell men!! I am going to see them in Feb and can not wait!!

I'm not that old, but I love the boys. I have loved them since they came to San Remo back in 1996. They are the best. Their music touches every part of me. They have inspired me, helped me, made me laugh. That is why I love the Backstreet Boys and I am proud ot be a fan.

I'm an older fan myself and me and my friend (who's 26) have been BIG BsB fans since november '95. It's difficult to explain why I love the boys so much. It's just everything about them. Their music, the way they look, they way they talk about stuff and especially their live concerts ...AMAZING!!! I still feel a bit weird sometimes, being 24 and a very huge BsB fan. But nothing anyone will say can ever stop me from adoring those 5 sweeties. And being an older fan really is gr8. Me and my m8 have a car, we have our own money to spend, soon our own place to play their music ALL the time :-) and if we wanna spend days and days following the boys, we will ( and we do...:-p). And if we wanna see 6 shows, 6 nights in a row, we will ( and we did :-p). It's total freedom!!!!! My friend and I allways follow the boys around Europe whenever they come here for a tour. We've met them to many times to mention and I can tell you that they really ARE the incredible sweet guys as magazines make you think. They allways take time for you to have a chat or sign stuff or take pictures and they are never ever rude to you. They truly love their fans, and age doesn't matter to them att all!!

I am a huge BSB fan and have been since Spring 98. I get the usual backlash from family and coworkers, but I don't take it to heart. These guys make me happy. Howie is my favourite. He's so sweet. I have never met them nor seen them in concert. I don't think their people know this state actually exists, but I still support them in all they do. They are definitely # 1 in this mature fan's heart.

I love the Boys and I am proud to be an adult fan! The guys are around my age so why shouldn't I like them? Being an adult fan has many perks. You can go to clubs with them, you can drive to the venues and follow their tourbuses, and you earn your own cash to go see them wherever and whenever you want. I've been lucky enough to have met them twice now. Once in Montreal last month and once in Orlando in 1998. They're all sweet, goody guys. I'll always love them, especially Brian!

Hello Maria, You always remind me to be proud to be an older fan . As you know it can be hard sometimes. I know that I take alot of slack for loving them as much as I do . If you want to see them in magazines you have to buy teenybopper magazines (with exception of People Mag. Thank you god for making my Kevin the Sexiest Pop Star, but then again we already knew this). You tell people you like them and they say "oh that teenybopper band," and we have to go into detail about how they are not babies. But then you remind me how great it is to be their ages and the great fun we could have with them, adult fun that is. LOL. You always make me feel better about myself when ever I get down -- when some sales clerk shots me a dirty look for buying Teenbeat or a music store clerk asks is this cd is for my niece, and then they give you that "aren't you a little old for that" look when you tell them it is for you. Then I go to your page and see someone who is just as crazy about those 5 babes as I am and feels just as strongly about keep that older fan pride alive and I don't feel so bad and you remind me that there are lots of others who feel the exact same way . So what I really wanted to say before I rambled on for so long, was just keep up the good work you do and keep loving Nick with all your might because he is so worth it.
Thank YOU Stacy for those beautiful words. It's friends/fans like you that make this all worth it. Keep your BSB adult pride alive always. Love, Maria

The Backstreet Boys have brought more happiness to my life than all the boyfriends I've ever had put together. You can love them, adore them, cry with them, laugh with them safely. All they want is your love. In return they give you 100% of themselves. I get so angry when my guy friends make fun of them. They're just jealous because they weren't blessed with incredible talent like these fine young men were. Each BSB is special to me in his own way. Kevin is my favorite, but I love them all. I'm not afraid to show it either. I will shout it from the rooftops if I must. I've never met them, but I've met the band members. Tommy is one of the best. A true heart of gold. He knows there are tons of adult fans out there and he said it makes the guys proud. They want to have fans of all ages. Not just kids or teenagers. They'll be around for a long time because they have something special. Something that makes me proud to be an adult fan.

Wow, what it means to be older and be a fan of the BSB? ~Okay, picture it...1989...NKOTB...~ You could say been there done that but I don't look at it that way, instead I look at things like this; either I am regressing or I'm trying to prolong being young and having fun. Being through the whole NKOTB hay day and pandamonium I have to say that THE BACKSTREET BOYS ARE BIGGER AND THIS IS A BACKSTREET WORLD. I adore those boys. I am an older fan and I am DAMN proud; I've been a fan for almost 2 years (in November)and ALL my friends and family know it. At first, I will admit that I went through a period of "denial", but as time went on I became more and more brave, asking when certain videos were being released etc. NOW, I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS THAT I LIKE THEM! Now, what it means...If I want to follow them all over the country I can...as long as I don't stalk them...I can go out and buy Millennium three times because scratches suddenly "appear" on the CD...I can pay any price I want for tickets because it ain't Mommy's money...I can appreciate Nick for the MAN that he is...I can BLAST any one of the amazing songs sung by the Backstreet Boys because my parent's just don't understand...and lastly what it means to be an older Backstreet Boys fan...I appreciate the boys for being the nicest, sweetest, and most caring band on this earth!

My name is Tiffany. My friends and family think I'm weird for being a devoted Backstreet Boys fan, but I don't care. Kevin Richardson is the finest man I have ever seen. I can't wait until they come to Pittsburgh so I can see them live. They are so talented and down to earth. Their music touches my heart every time I listen to it. Thanks for the great website. Now I know that there are others like me who are BSB fans and proud of it. Keep up the great work!

Ten years ago, I was the perfect age for the New Kids on the Block ... it's a time I still remember with fondness, not only because of the music and the guys, but because of the friends I made and the great time I had. I'd never really recaptured that feeling since ... I survived grunge and other various musical fads, but never quite connected with any of the pop music, until this past year. When a friend introduced me to the BSB, I knew almost instantly that this was the right time, and the right group, to help me remember that innocent fun. (Well, maybe now it's not so innocent, but ... you know what I mean. ;-)) Being an adult fan is terrific, if only because you have the personal freedom to do whatever you wish to do -- buy two copies of every album, travel across the country or the world to see a concert, stick posters to your walls with masking tape and sing "Larger Than Life" at the top of your lungs -- whatever. It's the best of both worlds, if you're not afraid to embrace your inner teenager. :-) In short, being a BSB fan is just a whole lot of fun ... whether you're a kid or an adult!

What does being an older BSB fan mean to me? Before, I started writing this I read over the messages that other adult BSB fans sent you that you posted and I have to say that it's so nice to actually find other people out there not ashamed to admit that they love BSB! So what does it mean to me? Well, it means arriving a work every morning with smile on my face because I have been singing along with the CD. Nothing takes people more off guard than when you show up on a Monday morning with a giant smile on your face. It means beautiful music coming out of beautiful people and getting a little jolt when I catch one of their videos on. Hubba Hubba. In a nut shell it means good music and good times. In a world where so much is wrong, it brings me happiness and that's the best compliment I can give them.
